Radford University is celebrating its centennial, 100 years of service to the Commonwealth of Virginia, during which over 60,000 students have become educated RU alumni. To mark its second century of service, RU introduces the Core Curriculum program.

RU is committed to the development of mature, responsible, well-educated citizens. In addition to acquiring a diverse body of knowledge, RU graduates will possess a love of learning and a range of intellectual skills that enable them to meet the challenges and realize the promise of living in  a complex, multicultural, and ever-changing world.

The centerpiece of the University Core is a series of four interdisciplinary courses in Core Foundations. These courses synthesize skills in critical thinking, oral and written communications, technology and information literacy, and ethical reasoning.
